R.I.P Daisy the Cat

Mon May 14, 2007, 8:07 AM
Yesterday my cat died, and she was an amazing 17 years old, and would have been 18 next month.

She was a fighter, if the dog would annoy her, she'd hiss at him to tell him to back off, if she were ill, she'd pull through, and even when she became blind with bad legs, she was still a cat to be reckoned with.

She wasn't unnesessarily ruthless however, she was a great, friendly family cat. You could stroke her, pick her up, and play with her, just when you annoyed her, you'd better watch out!

When she was dying it was no exception either, despite being incredibly weak and nearly unable to actually stand, she was fighting until the end, with all of us around her, saying our final goodbyes.

Her death is not surprising, however, and in a way i'm happy that she has passed away. She has been blind for nearly the past year, has had really bad legs, and had problems with her teeth. At least now she's no longer in any pain or suffering.

I have submitted a picture of her in the Garden, because she really liked it there, sometimes she'd sleep in the sun or sniff the flowers. I want to remember happily, rather than in the pain that she was in at the last days of her life. You can view it here.

R.I.P Daisy - An amazing cat who lived an amazing 17 years. You will always be remembered.

Wow... 17... my Jorge (black cat) is coming up 18 soon.

Poor Daisy, good luck in Kitty Heaven.

Awww, I just read this, and I'm so sorry, but so happy for her as well. I know what that's like, we recently had one of our 15 year old cats pass away and 2 19 year olds before that. Dear little friends they are. The link to the pic of her didn't work, but I'm sure she was beautiful. We also have a cat named Daisy, who is also frail at the moment. Perhaps someday soon they'll meet in that big catnip field in the sky.

I hope that you cat, if she dies, has a peaceful one.

As for the link, the code appears to be right, but it still isn't working. You can view her picture here: [link]
